6+1 Art Group

Artist: Vivian Kolotylo

6+1 Art Group was formed in 2000 by six women and one man (hence the name), who came together while participating in an art course at Lambton College. Wanting to continue to paint together on a regular basis, they found a community room in Sarnia and started to meet on a weekly basis.

The Group of visual artists has expanded to include 35 members, meeting each Thursday morning to paint, socialize, share ideas, and offer constructive critiques of each other's artwork. We occasionally challenge each other to try different artistic styles and share our results at our meetings.

Group members  participate in many juried shows in the Sarnia-Lambton area, working in watercolour, acrylic, oils, pastels, coloured pencil and graphite. Members paint in a variety of styles ranging from photo-realism through representational to abstract. Many art awards and prizes have been awarded to individual members, so please check out our GALLERY and BIOGRAPHY pages.

6+1 usually participates in an art show annually and is currently getting prepared to setup a show at the International Symphony Orchestra's new venue in downtown Sarnia.
